Let me introduce you to my Hometowns – places I have lived for more than a decade each. Together, they tell the story of my journey so far. These cities have contributed to shaping who I am today. The experiences, people and environment I encountered there helped me grow, adapt and gain new perspectives. The Charm of Thun, CH
The city of Thun which is located at the lower end of the lake Thun is where I grew up and the gate to the Bernese Oberland. The historic Old Town is situated about one kilometer from the shore of the Lake Thun on the river Aare.
Turreted Thun Castle, from the 1100s, stands on a hill above the old town. It has sweeping views of the Alps. The 14th-century City Church has an octagonal tower and a baroque hall. Thun Panorama, in lakeside Schadau Park, is a 19th-century, 360-degree painting of the town. Paddle steamers cruise Lake Thun to the resort town of Interlaken.

Zurich, Switzerland’s largest city, is a vibrant center of culture, commerce, and innovation. Unlike the quiet charm of Thun, it combines impressive architecture, a lively atmosphere, and the scenic Limmat River flowing through its heart. Living in Zurich broadened my perspective through exposure to diverse cultures and lifestyles. Its unique blend of urban energy and natural beauty, including Lake Zurich and its parks, has greatly influenced my outlook on life.
Switzerland is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes, presenting a unique blend of majestic mountains, serene lakes, and charming valleys that attract millions of visitors each year. The Swiss Alps, a cornerstone of the country’s natural beauty, dominate the skyline with their snow-capped peaks and rugged terrain. This mountain range not only offers awe-inspiring views but also serves as a year-round destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer allows tourists to experience the Alps in varying seasonal facets. Its stunning natural scenery makes Switzerland a truly unforgettable destination.
Cultural Melting Pot: Life in Bangkok, TH
Bangkok, Thailand’s vibrant capital, offers a striking contrast to life in Thun and Zurich. The city blends traditional Thai culture with rapid urban growth, creating an atmosphere full of energy and diversity. Its bustling streets, famous temples such as Wat Pho and Wat Arun, and lively neighborhoods make it a unique place to experience. The warmth and hospitality of the Thai people helped me feel welcomed, while adjusting to the fast-paced environment and language barrier challenged me to become more adaptable and resilient.
