Thun, CH

The city of Thun which is located at the lower end of the lake Thun is where I grew up and the gate to the Bernese Oberland. The historic Old Town is situated about one kilometer from the shore of the Lake Thun on the river Aare.

Turreted Thun Castle, from the 1100s, stands on a hill above the old town. It has sweeping views of the Alps. The 14th-century City Church has an octagonal tower and a baroque hall. Thun Panorama, in lakeside Schadau Park, is a 19th-century, 360-degree painting of the town. Paddle steamers cruise Lake Thun to the resort town of Interlaken.

Switzerland is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes, presenting a unique blend of majestic mountains, serene lakes, and charming valleys that attract millions of visitors each year.
