Matt is a village, and former municipality, in the municipality of Glarus Süd and canton of Glarus in Switzerland. Matt lies in the valley of the Sernf river, and consists of the village of Matt itself, and the mountain hamlet of Weissenberge.
From the mountain station of the Matt-Weissenberge gondola, take a leisurely walk through the lovely, snow-covered scenery up to Schiben and back. This beautiful path takes you through the quiet, unique winter landscape of Weissenberge – known as the sun porch of the Glarus region. Enjoy the fantastic views across the Sernf valley.
Along this winter hiking trail you will come across two cosy mountain restaurants where you can warm up and get something delicious to eat. A “Fürlifondue”, for example, a delicious fondue on an open fire in the Edelwyss mountain restaurant, is highly recommended.
