From the mountain station of the cable car Tierfehd-Kalktrittli (enjoy a live ride in my Video Collection), a marked trail leads via Chalchtrittli, Nüschen and Muttenwändli up to the Muttsee and its mountain hut Muttseehütte (2.5 hours from mountain station / T3).
As for the descent, a renovated and widened hiking mortar trail leads to the Limmerensee from where on one walks through the power plant tunnel (about 3 km) back to the mountain station of the cable car (2.5 hours / T2 with a short, chain-secured passage / T3).
