The village Attinghausen is located in the Urner river Reuss level along the Gotthard route. The Brüsti above Attinghausen can be reached by the cable car Attinghausen–Brüsti in a few minutes.
Once at Brüsti and to conquer the Surenenpass, I recommend to take the route via “Gratgädmeli” for the ascent and for the descent the route via “Waldnacht”. Either way, you pass the Angistock (watch a panorama view below) and get a nice round tour of about 15 km and 5 hours hiking time.
You may combine the hike on the Holzegg with an ascent of the Great Myth (T3). Then add another 2.5 hours. A second expansion option is a short 20-minute detour to Rotenflue (1571 m) on the way from Holzegg to Zwäcken. The hiking trails and variants are marked.
