Bregenz is an Austrian city at the eastern end of Lake Constance (Bodensee). It is the capital of the state of Vorarlberg. The annual Bregenz Festival is a major event, with opera and music performances at the lakeside floating stage known as the Seebühne and the glass-front Festspielhaus. The baroque St. Martin’s Tower is topped by a huge wooden dome. It houses a history museum and offers sweeping views.

The town of Bregenz lies at the foot of the mountain Pfänder on the shores of the Lake Constance (Bodensee). With its views over the lake and the surrounding mountain peaks, the Pfänder is one of the most famous lookout points of the region.
