The village Attinghausen is located in the Urner river Reuss level along the Gotthard route.

The Hagelstock is a mountain peak at 2182 m above sea level in the Swiss canton Uri. The summit is about a kilometer southwest of the Spilauersee below the Rossstock.
You best start by taking a ride with the cable car Kies-Mettmen up to the Mettmen Alp, the oldest wildlife sanctuary in Europe.
From the mountain station of the cable car Tierfehd-Kalktrittli, a marked trail leads via Chalchtrittli, Nüschen and Muttenwändli up to the Muttsee and its mountain hut Muttseehütte.
